Likeness

Done for Character Design, the goal was to create a likeness of the model. It was a big challenge for me because the lighting is HORRIBLE for that sort of thing... but it made for some really interesting effects. Since the goal was a likeness, I only detailed the features and left the rest in sfumato (smoky). I like the end result because it has a creepy, sort of "Valley of the Uncanny" feel to it... I think I described it as looking like one of those reconstructions they do to identify a skull.
Done start to finish in Photoshop on a single layer with nothing but a simple 0% hardness brush in various sizes. Took me a couple hours.
